This lightning protector is specifically designed to protect electronic pet containment system transmitters against damage from lightning and electrical surges. The unit contains two protectors – one to stop lightning currents from coming in on the loop wire and the other to stop lightning currents from coming in on the AC power connection. It is not designed to protect other kinds of equipment against lightning or AC surges. This is the same style unit the professional installers have used sucessfully for years.
